Eckankar – this cult is pretty well known to may people. Some of the persons whom I know had some serious problems after leaving, and I needed to help them getting rid of the negative impact of the thought-forms created by the founder of the group – typically, like many cults, the legend goes around that “rather than leaving it would have been better not to join” - seems to be all too true. Indirectly those outfits, some of which generally do not offer too much, except a similar CFP as many mainstream religions – this certainly can help their overall appeal, especially when their victims are not aware of this and actually thik this is something different. Is it needed? Most people join, because they are missing something, much of the time they are getting some hope – if there is no damage done with the can on the cats tail effect of a collective egregore, then this path may be a bit clumsy, and it still helps a person – if there is damage done, though, then the victim needs to be protected, and some time the victim needs serious help.
The chi generator together with the manifestation program certainly can help reconstitute confidence in oneself and counteract this pernicious can of the cat’s tail effect. At times collective egregores are generated on purpose – I suspect this with ekankar, sometimes they simply evolve as a result of already existing belief structures of members who quit combined with belief structures of members who feel they are blessed because they stay – and give all their possessions away in the process, thinking this is their free will rather than cult mind control. BTW, this is an interesting book.
I did help several folks who quit eck and who suffered as a result, and I did so with mixed success – most of the time, using the chigen and manif prog worked well, a few times I failed for whatever reason. Nobody is perfect, after all.
